Disneyland Paris

September 2002 - Absolutely Fabulous

Our 2002 trip to Disneyland Paris was absolutely incredible. We stayed in the Disneyland Hotel's Castle Club level, which is a 5-star concierge level service. Our room was 2406 on the 4th floor of the Club and had an amazing view from the balcony of the Park and Sleeping Beauty's Castle. As usual we flew Continental Airlines out of Newark. They were using one of thier flagship 777's (The Queen of the Skies) for the trip. I've flown Continental for decades and have never had a bad flight with them. It was a very comfortable, pleasant flight. We departed Newark promptly at 6:05 PM and arrived in Paris at 7:40 AM. There was a free shuttle from De Gaulle to the Disneyland Hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, a bellman came over to the bus with a clipboard to greet the guests. When we gave our name he took a slight breath and exclaimed "Oh, you are for the Castle Club" and beckoned for more porters to take our bags. We were escorted to a private elevator that took us to the Castle Club check in lounge. The gentleman checking us in made notice of the fact we were staying for a week and commented that he would make sure we got " a very nice room". He asked if we would care for some refreshments and escorted us to the Castle Club Lounge where we enjoyed a wonderful complimentary breakfast as the room was readied. The tables were set with Limoges porcelain and silverplate flatware along with crisp linens. The waitstaff wore white gloves. We started to get excited about our "nice room"

Room 2406 - Champagne, roses and a spectacular view.

As you can see, the room was just wonderful. Even more spectacular was the view through the little window late at night as Sleeping Beauty's Castle sparkled.

There was a bit of amusement all round when we discovered one of the unique "suprises" of sleeping practically inside the Park.

And here is a little meanderup to our room after enjoying a wonderful dinner at the Blue Bayou. We used the private elevator for Castle Club guests that requires the use of your room key to call it.
